Praise for our coaches:
Coach Joe:
"There are a few moments in my life that I was fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time. Meeting Coach Joe was one of them. I must have read every triathlon training book in the library and searched every website to design a training program to fit my lifestyle and my abilities. Search no more and stop wasting your time and risking injury! Coach Joe offers the best advice and strategies, period. The personal attention is unbelievable, not to mention his immense knowledge and experience with triathlons. I have had my share of coaches as a former college athlete. Coach Joe motivates you like no other coach. Becoming a triathlete is priceless. Coach Joe has changed my life. There is no reason to TRI it alone. With Coach Joe, you will have the support and resources that you need to succeed." Patty S.
"Coach Joe, your Next Level Challenge class was just the thing to break me out of my running 'rut'. I had been trying in vain on my own to bring my 5K times down and maybe break into mid-level running distances. I lacked confidence and knowledge, and you provided both in plenty! Thank you so much for all of the time you took to make sure I understood the training concepts you introduced, and also for all of the injury-prevent tips. Since I took your class I have dropped my personal best in the 5K from over thirty minutes to 26:34. I also ran my first 10K in 6 years and blew away my old record. Now I'm enrolled in your weekly track workout class, and I am gaining in speed and confidence. The only thing I have lost to date is body fat. Thank you!!!" - DrewR
"Joe takes his passion, enthusiasm, and the love of triathlon and incorporates into his teaching. Whether you are the experienced triathlete looking to improve on times, or the novice beginner, whatever skill level, you will leave each training session inspired, confident, ready to take on any challenge. I?m hooked. Thanks Coach Joe!!" - LynnB.
"Coach Joe has taken me from "couch potato" to "Triathlete in training". I came into Triathlons as a way to motivate myself to get back in shape. I was in the worst shape of my life and going from a 34 inch waist to a 38 inch waist was the final straw. I finally realized how bad things had gotten. I decided it was time to make a change and lucky for me, I met Joe at the same time. I signed up with Joe and ExperienceTriathlon as soon as I met him and his positive attitude. Because of Joe I have been able to change my life not only physically but mentally. I know I can do anything I put my mind to now. When I started training with Joe, I could only swim about 2 lengths before being exhausted, I could barely run for 1 minute without running out of breath, and I hadn't gone on a bike ride in a long time. Now I am able to swim over 1600 meters (a whole mile!!) in 1 training session, I have already run my first 5K race ever, and I log 15 miles on my bike like it is nothing. In a little over 6 weeks Joe has not only helped change my lifestyle, but maybe even saved me from a future of health related problems and illnesses. I fully recommend Joe to anyone who will listen. I can't thank him enough for what he has done for me. Thank You Coach!!" - Jeff S.
"With a friend's encouragement, I competed in my first triathlon a couple of years ago and was hooked! I decided I was ready to take my fitness to the next level but wasn't sure how. After years of working out with no real direction, I decided to give ET a try. Since working with Coach Joe, I have seen a huge improvement in my strength and endurance. Even more importantly, I have learned how to push myself harder than I had ever thought possible. The phrase "I didn't know I had it in me" definitely applies here! The support I have received from Joe and all of the coaches has been invaluable. I was looking for a group with like fitness goals and interests, and the ET family has provided that and then some! I am so glad I took the leap with ET, and can't wait to see what the future holds." Alicia R.
"Coach Joe, Thanks again for the CardiO2 Run class. You are truly gifted as a coach and I thoroughly enjoyed every week. You helped me achieve my goal of ridding my head of those "demons" and increasing my endurance/speed... so now I can honestly say: 'I LOVE RUNNING!'" - Dawn B.
"Coach Joe, I really enjoyed your 5K Training Program. You and the other coaches were great motivators. I have continued to run and completed the Shamrock Shuffle 8K yesterday in 47.53. I now log about 15 miles a week on average with a long run of 5 - 7 on the weekend. I can honestly say that the tips and information I picked up from the 5K program really helped get me to this point. One of the best things about the program are the people that make it work. You and the other coaches were fantastic!" - Bob N.

Coach Steve:
I began a new journey in November 2007. I signed up for the Steelhead Half Ironman Triathlon. The biggest challenges for me were that I could not swim and that I am over 50. I began working with ET Coach Steve at Life Time Fitness Romeoville masters swim. Thanks to him, on May 17, I completed my first triathlon in Galena. Coach Steve is a great motivator, coach, and positive inspiration. I know that I will complete Steelhead. Also, who knows? Is there an Ironman in my future? Karen W.

Coach Greg:
Coach Greg, after weeks of practice in your triathlon class I finally figured it out!! I found my rhythm. I'm actually looking forward to going in the pool again tomorrow. What made the difference for me is that you believed that I could do it. Thank you for encouraging me last night and telling me that my stroke was actually not as bad as I thought it was; it really helped me today. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! Eva B.
Coach Greg, your triathlon training class has been an AWESOME experience and I know I couldn't have learned as much if I had done it on my own. I appreciate your time, knowledge and advice over the past few months. I hope to get through my first tri in Naperville and use all you've taught me to continue to grow and feel more comfortable competing in the future. Pam R.

Coach Patty:
My kids REALLY didn't want to do swim lessons but Coach Patty won them over! Over the course of their eight lessons, the quality of their strokes and their speed and endurance improved dramatically. I'm grateful to Patty for making this a fun, positive experience with great results. Nancy B.

Coach Craig:
Before I met Craig I had never done a triathlon, but I wanted to prepare for Ironman Wisconsin in less than six months. I didn't even own a bike! Craig taught me this was a race of attrition and quickly put me on a plan so I could finish the event strong. I finished in 12:02 and had a lot of energy to run strong the last six miles of the marathon. I learned from Craig that it's about more than just doing workouts; it’s about the intensity of the workout and the nutrition needed to finish strong. Now I can't wait to kick butt in my next IM!" Scott N.
"I am a swimmer!
For 40 years I was afraid of the water. I couldn't swim, could not keep up with my kids or save them if, God forbid, anything happened to them in the water. I took a swimming lesson and learned the mechanics. But I never learned how to swim. I never learned how to feel comfortable in the water. That is, until I met Craig Strong. I watched him coach my son. I saw my son improve and I thought, "This man can help me." Craig told me in five lessons I would be a swimmer. I laughed. Four lessons later, I could float, I could keep my face in the water and yes, I could swim. A few months later, as I swam a mile in Lake Michigan for the Chicago Triathlon, I was smiling. And as I breathed and looked to the side, Craig was smiling back, walking along the wall supporting me. He worked his magic, helped me focus and do something I never believed possible. I am eternally grateful." Dina B.
"After a year of dedicated work with Coach Strong, I took 2 hours off my ironman finishing time. Coach Strong helped me excel at all aspects of my training for and racing in triathlon. The outcome was the race of my life. I plan to continue a long and fruitful relationship with him as my coach." Larry C.
